Dr. Janice Crowder is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than three decades of experience in women’s healthcare. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her compassionate, patient-centered approach and her commitment to treating both the medical and psychosocial needs of her patients. Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Crowder earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Howard University in 1982 and her Doctor of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine in 1986. She became board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1994 and has remained dedicated to advancing women’s health ever since. Her career includes clinical practice, teaching, and mentorship, including serving as an Assistant Clinical Instructor at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She has also been affiliated with leading hospitals such as Memorial Hermann and Christus St. John Hospital. Today, Dr. Crowder’s work extends beyond clinical care into advocacy. She is focused on addressing physician burnout and raising awareness around maternal mortality in the United States, particularly among Black women. She believes that improving outcomes requires not only better systems, but also greater support for physicians as individuals.
